How Much Is My Audemars Piguet Worth?

One watch carries the maker's resale: the steel Royal Oak trades above list, most of the rest below.

About 3% above retail on average · Q2 2026The Royal Oak carries the brandFounded 1875 · Le Brassus

The short answer

Pre-owned Audemars Piguet watches averaged about 3% above retail in mid-2026, and almost all of that comes from the steel Royal Oak. The Royal Oak Selfwinding 15510ST lists at roughly $34,000 and commonly trades in the $40,000s to $50,000s, with the Jumbo Extra-Thin 16202ST well above that. The Royal Oak Offshore trades nearer to or below list, and the Code 11.59 well below it.

Figures reviewed September 2026

Audemars Piguet's value story is the Royal Oak's. Gérald Genta's steel sports watch of 1972 has become one of the two or three most wanted watches in the world, and steel Royal Oaks are allocated rather than sold — which is why they trade above list.

The rest of the catalogue has not followed. The Code 11.59, launched in 2019, trades well below list, and many Royal Oak Offshore references trade near or below it. The brand average of a few percent above retail is a blend of a very strong line and a weaker one.

Over the year to mid-2026, Audemars Piguet's pre-owned prices rose more slowly than Patek Philippe's or Rolex's. The steel Royal Oak itself stayed firmly above list.

What moves the price

Why two Audemars Piguet watches fetch different figures

The things a buyer prices in, in roughly the order they look for them.

01

The bevels

The Royal Oak's case and bracelet alternate brushed surfaces with sharp polished bevels. A careless polish softens those bevels permanently, and the market discounts it sharply.

02

Full bracelet

The integrated bracelet is part of the design and expensive to replace. Missing links or a stretched bracelet are priced in at the maker's cost.

03

Dial

Within one reference, the dial color can move a Royal Oak by thousands of dollars. The blue Grande Tapisserie is the reference point; unusual dials trade on demand.

04

Royal Oak or not

The single largest question for an Audemars Piguet's resale is whether it is a steel Royal Oak. Almost every other line is priced like an unrationed high-end watch.

Selling

Where to sell an Audemars Piguet, and what you keep

A steel Royal Oak attracts competing offers from specialist dealers and auction houses, and the gap between an outright offer and a private sale is correspondingly narrow. Gather several offers.

An Offshore or Code 11.59 has a thinner pool of buyers. Consignment with a dealer who has Audemars Piguet clients usually nets more than an outright sale, at the cost of time.

Questions we are asked

How much is my Audemars Piguet worth?
If it is a steel Royal Oak, likely more than it cost: a 15510ST commonly trades in the $40,000s to $50,000s against a list of roughly $34,000 in 2026. Most Royal Oak Offshores trade near or below list, and Code 11.59 watches well below.
Does the Royal Oak hold its value?
The steel Royal Oak does, trading above list in 2026. Precious-metal Royal Oaks and other lines are less consistent, and many resell below retail.
Do Audemars Piguet watches hold their value?
On average only just: in the second quarter of 2026 Audemars Piguet's pre-owned prices averaged about 3% above retail. That average is carried by the steel Royal Oak.
