Hermès is the only major maison whose bags routinely resell above their boutique price. In 2026 a Birkin 25 in Togo lists at about $13,500 in the US and pristine examples resell for roughly $28,000–32,000; a Birkin 30 lists at about $14,900 and resells around $24,000–30,000. The Kelly and Constance also trade above retail, while more available bags such as the Evelyne, Picotin and Garden Party resell nearer to it.

Hermès does not sell its most wanted bags to anyone who walks in. Birkins, Kellys and Constances are offered to established clients at the boutique's discretion, so a buyer without that history can only buy one on the secondary market. The resale premium is the price of that access.
The premium is not uniform. Smaller sizes now command more than larger ones. Neutral colors in Togo or Epsom are the liquid core of the market; rare colors can go far higher, and exotic skins are a specialist market of their own. Condition is priced hard: a pristine bag, never carried and with the protective plastic still on its hardware, sits well above one carried for a season.
Hermès raised US prices again in January 2026 — about 6 percent on the Birkin 25 and 7 percent on the Birkin 30 in Togo. Rising list prices lift the floor under resale, which is part of why these bags have proved so resilient.

Why two Hermès bags fetch different figures
The things a buyer prices in, in roughly the order they look for them.
Leather and color
Togo and Epsom in black, gold, étoupe or craie sell fastest at the center of the range. Rare colors can go well above it; unpopular ones below.
Pristine or carried
Pristine — unworn, with the hardware plastic on — is its own price tier. Corner rub, a relaxed shape or scratched hardware can take thousands of dollars off a Birkin.
The full set
Box, dust bag, rain cover, clochette, lock and matching keys, and the receipt. A Birkin missing its lock and keys, or with a mismatched set, sells as a lesser bag.
Restoration
Replaced hardware, re-dyed leather or re-stitched seams are legitimate maintenance, but the market prices a restored Hermès below an original one in the same condition.
