Terms of Service

What the house undertakes to do, what it charges for, and the limits of what a record can tell you.

Last updated 29 July 2026

1.Who you are dealing with

The Lovenhall Registry(“the Registry”, “the house”, “we”) is operated by a sole trader established in Istanbul, Türkiye. These terms govern your use of thelovenhallregistry.com and every service offered through it.

By opening a register, or by using any part of the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the service.

2.What the Services are

“Services” means everything the house provides through the site, whether free or paid, now or in future. Today that is:

  • The Vault — a private place to keep a record of pieces you own: their details, your photographs, invoices and certificates. Free, and with no limit on how much you keep.
  • Digital records — a paid, written reading of one piece, entered under a permanent accession number.
  • Instruments — the free calculators and guides published on the site.

That is the whole of what the house sells today. Should we offer a further service in future, these terms continue to apply to it, and any rules particular to it will be published as supplementary terms before it opens. Where supplementary terms conflict with these, the supplementary terms govern for that service only.

3.Your register

Anyone may open a register. You are responsible for the security of the account you sign in with, and for everything done through it. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been reached by someone else.

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and the details you give us must be your own and accurate.

You may close your register at any time from your account. Doing so erases your profile, your vault, every file you uploaded, your records and your sign-in. It cannot be undone, and the house keeps no copy.

4.What you keep in the vault

Everything you upload remains yours. You keep every right in it, and nothing you upload becomes the property of the house.

To hold it for you, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy and display your content back to you, and — only when you buy a record for a piece — to process that piece’s photographs and details in order to produce the reading. That licence exists to run the service and for nothing else. It ends when you delete the content or close your register.

The house does not read, review or analyse what is in your vault unless and until you buy a record for that piece. Keeping something here is not submitting it to us.

You must have the right to upload what you upload, and you must not upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.

5.Records — what they are, and what they are not

A record is a document generated automatically by software from the photographs and details you provide, and stored under a permanent accession number. The Registry is a software service and nothing more: it does not employ appraisers, gemmologists or valuers, and it does not offer consulting or advisory services of any kind.

No person at the Registry examines your piece, and no person reviews what the model writes. A record is not a certificate of authenticity, a formal or insurance appraisal, a gemmological or scientific certification, a guarantee of value, or financial, investment or professional advice. Any figure it contains is an automated estimate. Independent, in-person verification by a qualified professional is always advised before you buy, sell or insure a piece.

A reading can only be as good as what it is shown. Any value range is indicative, expressed as a range rather than a figure, and may be wrong. Where the captures cannot settle a question, the record says so — and that statement is as much a part of it as any conclusion.

You are free to use your record however you wish, including showing it to an insurer, a buyer or an heir. You do so on your own judgement, and anyone relying on it should read it in full, including its stated limits.

6.Fees and payment

The vault is free. A record costs $99 for that piece, charged once. There is no subscription and no recurring charge for anything the house offers today, and you are never billed automatically for something you have not chosen.

Paddle is the merchant of record for every purchase: they are the seller named on your receipt, they take the payment, and they charge and remit any VAT or sales tax due in your country.

Because Paddle is the seller of record, their buyer terms also apply to the purchase itself. We never see or hold your card details.

Prices are shown before you pay and may change, but a change never affects a purchase already made. Were the house ever to offer something on a recurring basis, its price, billing period and cancellation terms would be stated plainly before you agreed to it, and you would be able to cancel it yourself at any time.

7.Refunds

Where the house cannot read a piece properly — the reading fails, or comes back at low confidence — the record is refunded in full, and we offer that before you have to ask. A sound reading you disagree with is not refunded. The full policy is set out in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

8.Using the service properly

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for anything unlawful, or to launder, disguise or misrepresent the origin of a piece;
  • present a record as a certification, appraisal or guarantee, or alter one to change what it says;
  • upload content you have no right to upload;
  • attempt to reach another member's vault, records or account;
  • scrape, resell or systematically extract the site, or use it to build a competing dataset;
  • interfere with the service, or with the security measures that protect it.

We may suspend or close a register that is being used this way. Where we do, and where it is lawful and reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

9.Availability

We work to keep the Registry available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, faults and the failures of services we depend on all happen. Nothing here is a guarantee of continuous availability.

Your vault is not a backup. Please keep your own copies of anything you would be sorry to lose.

10.Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights as a consumer, which these terms do not affect.

Subject to that, the house is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit or opportunity, or for a decision to buy, sell, insure or part with a piece taken on the strength of a record. Our total liability in connection with the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

This reflects what a record is: an opinion, priced as one, sold with its limits stated on its face.

11.Ending the arrangement

You may stop using the Services, or close your register, whenever you like. We may end or suspend the arrangement if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the Services — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to take your content with you.

Clauses that by their nature should survive — those on your content, what a record is not, liability, and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.

12.Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms as the house changes. The date at the head of this page always says when they last did. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell members before it takes effect. Using the Services after a change means accepting it; if you would rather not, you may close your register.

13.Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Istanbul, Türkiyehave jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your own country’s law, and nothing here takes those away.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
