Report number verifies online
Free and public on HRD's own service. A number that does not resolve or grades that differ from the printed document are decisive.
Europe's laboratory, widely used in the trade and calibrated on its own terms.
Founded 1973Antwerp3 weighted checks
HRD Antwerp grades a large share of the stones moving through the European trade and its reports are widely accepted across the continent. Like every laboratory it is calibrated on its own terms, and HRD grades are not directly interchangeable with GIA's.
Verification is online and free. HRD also offers laser inscription, and where it has been applied the inscription ties the report to the stone.
For a buyer, the practical point is comparison. A stone with an HRD report and a stone with a GIA report at the same stated grades are not guaranteed to be the same stone, and the market prices that difference in.
HRD reports carry a number verifiable on the laboratory's own online service, returning the grades issued against it. Compare every printed field.
Where laser inscription has been applied, the girdle carries the report number and matching it is the check that defeats report swapping.
HRD reports state origin, and modern reports address laboratory-grown stones explicitly.
Ordered by how much each one settles. The decisive checks are the ones worth your first five minutes; the supporting ones only matter once those are clean.

Where an inscription was applied, match it. Where none was, match the millimetre dimensions and the table and depth percentages.
HRD calibration is its own. Compare an HRD stone against another HRD stone, and treat a cross-laboratory comparison at identical stated grades with caution.
