The Lady Dior is a structured, quilted box, and its structure is the point: it holds its shape empty, its corners are square, and the Cannage quilt runs around those corners without breaking. A soft-bodied Lady Dior that slumps when set down has the wrong internal construction, whatever the exterior looks like.
The charms are the fastest read. Four letters, individually cast, each hanging straight from a ring that turns freely. Weigh them in the hand; genuine charms have real mass. Look at the letterforms at the joins — a counterfeit's D and O are usually slightly too wide or too round.
The handles are rolled leather, firm, and attached through hardware that sits flush. The top of each handle is finished so the roll closes cleanly with no visible seam gap. Inside, the lining is leather on most references, with the date code impressed where the model places it.
Sizes run micro through large, and the mini and small are the sizes the market asks for. The Cannage's diamond scale is proportioned to the size of the bag, so a mini with a full-size quilt scale is wrong.
